That Time I Went to Philly

Image
Closing July with a post that should off been up months ago!!!
These three outfits were the ones I wore on my Memorial Day Philadelphia trip.  We took the puppy and I wanted to be as comfortable as possible.  I only packed one pair of neutral colored sandals and for the most part only wore lipstick.  Can't get any simpler than that!! I find that when on vacation I don't even think of makeup, so not me LOL
On another note... Tomorrow is August! Insane

Got News?

Image
I personally don't watch the news LOL I find them depressing and I just don't have time for that.
But... when I saw this dress I had to get it.  It reminded me so much of Carrie Bradshaw's  Dior dress that I needed  to have it.  Obviously mine was only $12 and a bit different style on top (not shown here).
I styled it a little 90's child layering a t-shirt and sneakers for a comfy Sunday look.

Beautiful Finds

Image
When I was little I used to always get my sisters and cousins hand me downs.  So it was only  a matter of time for me to start thrifting. I love Free people clothing, but lets be honest it can get a lot expensive. When I found this dress for $15 dollars at the consignment store, I had to buy it.
It can  styled as a dress or top.  This time around I wore it with biker shorts and lace up flats for an afternoon in the best city in the world, New York!

My Go To

Image
When Summer hits and you only feel comfortable in tank tops and a skirt....
I have been living in outfits like this for the past month.  I am not complaining about the heat, in fact I love it.  It is so easy to just pick an outfit and get out of the house.  I have been trying different versions of this to work and the weekends.
I recently bought these sandals at the Zara sale and have been in heavy closet rotation.
Hope you have a nice week!

Three's Company

Image
My boyfriend has three loves I would love to think that I was number one, but first came the car, then me and lastly puppy LOL

Here is a funny story my friends...
Ryan and I met thru an online app.   In reality we almost don't even meet . If you have used one of this apps before, then you know it can get a little crazy , boring and tiring.  I was about to give up and so was he.  On his profile he stated that he was into muscle cars, really? I thought to myself. I had no idea what he meant by that, until he showed me this beauty. The whole time we sat and talked about this car on our first date I was clueless LOL  He worked on this car for a long time, won many prices in lots of car shows.  Was I impressed?  hell yes!  very much. To make a long story short his dedication and passion for this car amazed me.
It took three years for me to finally take pictures of this beauty and I am so glad I did!
I wanted to look a bit retro for this so I went with a dress and sneakers, no…

Tulip World

Why do we stop doing what we love to do?
This question has been on my mind for days now.  I have not written in a while I have not taken pictures in God knows how long.  These are things that I love to do, but I let my own thoughts get in my head and I get discourage.
I think that needs to stop!
Doing more of what you love is important for the body and mind.
These were taken a while back at Holland Ridge Farms.  I found this beautiful tulip farm and I knew I had to go.  It was the most beautiful place filled with tulips so colorful and so amazing.
A little bit of Amsterdam here in Jersey.

Neon Craze

Image
I am embracing the neon trend all the way.  I have always love bright colors.  If you open my closet, a rainbow pops up lol I paired this sweater with white jeans and pumps and added a scarf to my mini pony tail, because that is another trend I am totally embracing!

Spring

Image
I wish all the blooms stay all year round.  But then I realize how Spring teaches us that change is a must and that sometimes it is for the best .  Am I right? Even though I love Spring,  Summer is my favorite season.  Maybe because I grew in Colombia where the lowest temps are 95 degrees LOL

Anyways,  I found this top on sale at Gap for only $7.  I couldn't pass that price!
I've worn it to the office with white pants and have another outfit planned out with it.

Stay tuned friends!

In Transition

Image
Am I the only person who is patiently waiting for Summer?

I feel like every year mother nature makes us wait a little longer.  Could it be because I love  Summer? so it seems longer for me? lol  I have no idea.

One thing I would say is that I am not at all minding, that my favorite jackets are making an appearance.  This transitional piece that really goes well with everything in my closet.  It's one staple item  I would never part with.

Every year I miss the in between gap from Spring to Summer, that they end up in the back of  the closet, sad waiting to be worn.

But not this year boys!

Happy May

Image
Happy May Happy belated Cinco De Mayo and lastly Happy Birthday Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood.
Through my years of blogging I have met so many amazing people and today we celebrate one of those amazing women.  Ada thank you so much for letting me be a part of your birthday blog party!
You guys know how much I love pink and blazers so it was a no brainier when putting this outfit together for Easter.  I love the whole blazer and jeans look.  Every time I style this type of outfits, it gives me the professional vibe on top with a less dress-up feel on bottom.  Paired with these comfy Zara boots and a little sparkle on my hair for a fun and youthful touch.

Leggings and Headbands

Image
I celebrated Easter yesterday and if any of you reading this did too, I hope it was a great one!
About two months ago I took these pictures and I have no idea what happened that I forgot to post them.  This was one of my favorite comfy looks I usually wear during the colder months.   You can't never go wrong with faux leather leggings, a button down shirt and boots. I have been loving headbands lately and to my surprise my head hasn't hurt a bit while wearing them lol

The Bag

Image
Spring is finally here.  The flowers are blooming and the allergies are in full force lol I have been searching cherry trees the same way I searched for this bag.  Little did I know, that I would find it at TJ Maxx for a fraction of the price.
I wanted to make this post all about the bag but when I couldn't find my denim jacket,  I had to add a little animal print to the mix.

Talking about cheery trees...
I can't wait to go to Branch Brook Park this weekend! I tried going last year, but it was so busy I couldn't even find parking and just turned around and went home.
If you are in the NJ area go check it out!  I have seen gorgeous pictures and I'm just so excited to go.

That Transitional Piece

Image
I love it when the weather starts to warm up and there is still the feeling of Winter with a mixture of Spring.  This was two weeks ago on a Friday, the first day that actually felt like the weather was finally changing. I have only worn this sweater twice, not because I don't like it I actually love it, but the sleeves don't fit into any of my coats.  So it has been designated as the transitional piece in my closet.   BTW I can honestly say that my favorite jeans are Gap jeans.  Sorry Levi's I love you as well, but Gap has my heart at the moment!

The Magic of Goodwill

Image
A few months ago I entered my first Goodwill store and I was fascinated by all the things I found. Specially this oversize men blazer I got for $4 dollars.  After seeing this trend in all the fashion shows runways, I could not resist but to jump on the blazer wagon.
I paired it with jeans, t-shirt and heels to make a fun outfit for lunch with friends. xo, Yaudy Cristina

Neon is Back Baby

Image
I tend to hold on to items that I like even if they go out of style.  I am glad I did that with these neon heels I bought since 2012 at T.J. Maxx.  I was so close to donating them, but something told me to keep them.  I believe it was the fashion whisperer LOL
Neon is back my friends!
If you like the trend but are not sure how to incorporated in, try doing a pop of color like I did here.  I kept the rest of the outfit neutral so the big statement was obviously the shoes.

I right away knew that I needed them and wanted them! Oh and more animal print because this Jersey girl cant live without it.
